Application of fiberglass tubes in railway guardrails
In railway infrastructure construction, guardrails (also known as safety barriers or railings) are a crucial component for ensuring train safety, preventing people from accidentally entering the tracks, and protecting facilities along the line. Traditional railway guardrails are mostly made of steel or concrete, but long-term use has revealed inherent defects such as susceptibility to corrosion, high maintenance costs, electrical hazards, and heavy weight. Fiberglass reinforced plastic (GFRP) pipes, commonly known as fiberglass pipes, are becoming a favored next-generation material in the railway guardrail field due to their unique combination of properties.
